Horse Racing – Off to the Races
Horse Racing has been around for some time now, providing horse lovers a sporting event to enjoy. Starting in the twelve century, English Knights brought back with them from the Crusades, Arab horses, which brought about horseracing, entertaining millions around the world.
The Arab horse was bred with the English horses, which brought in the famous Thoroughbred. During the 1600’s, King Charles II, brought to the people what is known is horse racing. King Charles II, set up a program where prizes were given to the winners, making the Newmarket a scene for the first race. Since Queen Anne’s reign in the 1700s, horse racing a wide area of sport entertainment. Horseracing became so well known that the Jockey Club was formed by the 1700s. The Club provided a means for writing up regulations and controlling horse racing events. Yet, the 1700s was only the beginning of the things to come. By the 18 and 19th century the Kentucky Derby took off, and later the Grand National arena. Throughout the world, many horse masters, and breeds, head to the fields and onto the races.
While many go off to see horse racing shows, hoping to win the big bucks, it pays to go to the races knowing that horseracing is similar to gambling. You have to know your limits. Be sure to learn a few tips before placing a bet on the various horses to prevent landing in debt. Horseracing is a professional sport, not a bad habit we need to form…….
